Next to my fondness of black and white photos would be my feelings toward picture of railroads. Don’t ask me why, but I have always thought those photographs of railroads to invoke a special feeling. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to photograph a couple’s engagement pictures out on our place. One of my favorite spots to take pictures is on these tracks. We had been trying for weeks to get these pictures taken, but Mother Nature had continually been blessing us with rain. Thankfully, however, she held off…

Of late, I have been in the Pearl Brewery area taking pictures for Dhruvi and her blog, Stilettos And Sequins. We’ve been meeting there around 7:30 in the mornings, before work, so she can post on her site twice a week or so. I’ve not only enjoyed the experience of taking pictures there, but the atmosphere is so perfect. In the mornings, it’s quiet and beautiful. Even through the fog, we’ve had to deal with the past couple of times. There are several places to grab coffee or breakfast. Hopefully…

I don’t know a better way to close out the month than with a picture of such a great, beautiful couple. Amanda, a friend of mine since childhood, met Josh on our city league softball team, Cleats & Cleavage, this past year. Ever since we’ve known this would come. So excited I could be apart of this special time in their lives!

Happy Birthday Mila!

Happy Birthday Mila!

Earlier this month, I photographed, perhaps the cutest shoot and subject to-date. Mila, her family and I met at the park early one Saturday morning to take some pictures for her upcoming 1st birthday. And Monday she turned 1! A couple of weeks ago I shared a Fave Photo Friday post with y’all of sweet Mila, but I didn’t want to share too many pictures until after her birthday. Well I can’t bear to wait any longer! What a doll! Her expressions throughout the shoot were just “Awww” worthy. It…

It hasn’t been the most fun last couple of days. Yesterday, not only did I watch my Aggies take a beating and look like crud, I also started feeling sick. Sure enough, I came down will my yearly case of strep throat. After a visit to Texas MedClinic and a shot (not in my arm….), I was sent back home for a day of ibuprofen every 4 hours, Gatorade out of a sippy cup, and quite the nap. But now, I’m feeling a little more productive, so I figured I’d catch…

It’s Fri-day, it’s Fri-day! < insert happy dance > Well it’s been way too long since I last had a Fave Photo Friday post! But I just had to share this one from a shoot I had earlier this month. I will have more to share of sweet, happy Mila, but that will come later when she turns the big 1 year old! But this picture. Y’all I absolutely adore black and white pictures. And this was a picture that accidentally got taken during an outfit change and camera adjustments!…

Sunburnt in October

Sunburnt in October

Occasionally weekends come around and I have no extensive plans. This is becoming less and less often, but when they do come around, I welcome them with open arms and try my damnedest to make the most of it! It was only a couple of weeks ago, I shared some pictures and happenings from the Commercial Heifer Validation. That was a fun day but a bit different from the usual working cow events. Like I summarized in that post and many prior, it doesn’t matter how many years I grow…

25 for Twenty-five

25 for Twenty-five

In many ways, I am still a child at heart even though I have a full-time job, live on my own, buy my own groceries and so on like an adult. I find humor in the smallest of things and at enjoy the immaturity I can don when around my younger sisters. This past week, I had a birthday. Now I am now twenty-five, and I’m not sure what to think of it. A number doesn’t have to dictate your actions or opinions; however, with this being a milestone of sorts,…

Road Trip Reads

Road Trip Reads

A number of good things came about on my trip to the mountains this past weekend. One of those was being getting back into another book. Last month while on vacation with my family, I lost myself in the pages of a book called “Hill Country,” written by Janice Woods Windle. I found myself more interested than usual in a book of this type. I wasn’t sure if it was actual interest or due to reading at such a high elevation. Nonetheless, this historical fiction novel lured me in and…
