Working Cows w Grandpa

Occasionally weekends come around and I have no extensive plans. This is becoming less and less often, but when they do come around, I welcome them with open arms and try my damnedest to make the most of it! It was only a couple of weeks ago, I shared some pictures and happenings from the Commercial Heifer Validation. That was a fun day but a bit different from the usual working cow events. Like I summarized in that post and many prior, it doesn’t matter how many years I grow…

Where I’m From by Kymberlyn #NationalPoetryDay

Kymberlyn the Poet

This was not a planned post; I have another one of those coming later today! But early this morning I received a family group text from my little sister. She sent us a copy of a poem she wrote to turn into her 10th grade English teacher. And it was amazing. It amazes me how my pride in my family, particularly my sisters, continues to increase. Maybe one day you’ll be reading one of their blogs! I guess it’s no coincidence they had a poetry assignment today beings that according…

I’ve Been Eating Well Lately

Hamburger Steak and Fried Eggs for Breakfast

In previous posts, I have spoken a lot about how fortunate I am to live in a family and a place where good food is not hard to find. In recent years, I have branched out and opened my palette up to new experiences. But sometimes the oldies will always remain the goodies. So I figured I would show off a little and toot my mother’s horn a bit, of course. Actually let’s start with that. Last weekend, all of my other sisters were one place or another, so I was…

Things Tuesday

Tuesday, Wednesday, August, 2015, where have you gone? With so much going on, Things Tuesday will have to be two whole days late. But that’s okay because I have brought you a pretty darn good list. So let’s get things started. ONE This will make you laugh. I promise. TWO And if you appreciate the actual game of baseball (not just the entertainment!) this video will make you say, “Wow.” STRAIGHT STEAL OF HOME! Oh my, @ElvisandrusSS1: http://t.co/dLlz2o7mlV #StealAHome pic.twitter.com/qSZKALoHqq — MLB (@MLB) September 2, 2015 THREE After winning another…

God is Good. Yet another post about being blessed.

Family at Quiet Hill Ranch

God is good. Though it may sound like an original phrase, possibly under- or over-used depending on how you look at it, but after the week I had last week, I am reminded yet again by the dear Lord how blessed I am. From the seminar for work I attended last Monday to the 4 days I spent out in the middle of nowhere with my family then to the float trip with my fellow Ags on the Comal River and finally to my trip to Luckenbach, Texas, on Sunday.…

A Getaway in the Hill Country

Sunset at Quiet Hill Ranch

Unplug and unwind. That’s been the theme of our family vacation this year. This is the third year in a row that one of my grandparents have turned 80. In 2013, we threw a big party for Grandpa out at our house that included a dance out on the patio. The next year, it was Granny’s turn. For both of these parties, we sent 100+ invitations. We had to turn fields for grazing into parking lots and have all of our relatives bring a picnic table so everyone could have…

Things Tuesday

Oh hey, June. Wait. Goodbye? How in the world do these months go by so fast. I’d understand it if I was jet-setting around the world every weekend, but unfortunately that is not the case. I guess splitting my time between work and play is catching up to me. Then again, maybe this is just a side-effect of growing up that I have to just learn to deal with. On to my little list of randomness on this Tuesday. You may have noticed that this is not a Twelve Things…

Twelve Things Tuesday feat image

Happy, happy Tuesday! Last week I was convinced it would be a long week after coming off of a wonderfully productive weekend at home with the family. However, it felt like right after I posted, it was Friday before I knew it! Earlier today I posted a May Favorites post of sorts. Since everyone is doing them these days, I figured I would participate as well! But on to my weekly, for the most part, post: ONE Oh Aggies. Why do I look so tired today? Maybe it had something…

Came, Saw, Conquered

May Favorites feat image

Just a headsup, we are only a few weeks away from being halfway through 2015. How is that even possible? Does anyone not feel like time keeps flying by faster and faster? Oh the days when summer vacation seemed to last an eternity. Now a whole month flies by and in a blink. In all though, May was one heck of a month. I accomplished a lot both professionally and personally. Life has been pretty much a blast. Like I’ve said countless times, I live an extremely blessed life but…

May 2015 Rainfall

And just like that we are only 12 days away from June and the middle of 2015! ONE Aggie Baseball finished up its regular season, going 43-10! What a fantastic year. But now on to the hard part. Tomorrow they kick off the SEC Tournament, playing Alabama. The conference tournament will wrap up this Sunday, May 24th, hopefully with an Aggie SEC Tournament Championship! Gig’Em Aggies! TWO Just about all day on Sunday, I flipped back-and-forth between all of my ESPN channels trying to catch some good softball games. So on Monday…
