Moo Cow Moo

Some days, you just need to look at cute pictures of cows to get you going. Something is in the air, my allergies are on overdrive and medicine is wearing off. Figured it was as good of a time as ever to share with y’all some pictures I took last week, with my new lens. These cows and calves sure look happy to be on a fresh pasture! And of course I had to make a stop up at Grandma and Grandpa’s to see what I could find there. Well hope…

Top 5 Friday: Audrey Hepburn

Years and years ago, shoot getting close to at least 15 years, Sydney and I made the trip down to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to spend the night. A quarter-mile trip may not seem far, but I’m sure it felt far enough for my parents to get us kids out of the house for the night or if they were lucky, the weekend! Anyhow, we took our toothbrushes and a change of clothes and headed out. Once at their house, we put our things away in one of the bedrooms…

Diamonds are Forever

Sixty years. The diamond anniversary they call it. Not sure if Grandma knew that this year, but she missed her chance at scoring yet another ring with a big ole rock. If you know my grandma, you can picture just about all ten of her fingers sporting at least one ring, but a few may even have a couple stacked. I ought to do a whole post discussing her rings. She has a story for each of them. Not all are worth huge sums of money, but those usually have…

Things Tuesday: 09/01/2015

Tuesday, Wednesday, August, 2015, where have you gone? With so much going on, Things Tuesday will have to be two whole days late. But that’s okay because I have brought you a pretty darn good list. So let’s get things started. ONE This will make you laugh. I promise. TWO And if you appreciate the actual game of baseball (not just the entertainment!) this video will make you say, “Wow.” STRAIGHT STEAL OF HOME! Oh my, @ElvisandrusSS1: http://t.co/dLlz2o7mlV #StealAHome pic.twitter.com/qSZKALoHqq — MLB (@MLB) September 2, 2015 THREE After winning another…

A Getaway in the Hill Country

Unplug and unwind. That’s been the theme of our family vacation this year. This is the third year in a row that one of my grandparents have turned 80. In 2013, we threw a big party for Grandpa out at our house that included a dance out on the patio. The next year, it was Granny’s turn. For both of these parties, we sent 100+ invitations. We had to turn fields for grazing into parking lots and have all of our relatives bring a picnic table so everyone could have…

Things Tuesday: 07/14/2015

Knock, knock. Who’s there? The middle of July. Yep, July 15th is right around the corner, a couple of hours from now! I would say where has the time gone, but I know the answer: work, play, Aggie things, family, sleep. ONE My dear grandpa turned 82 yesterday!!! Even though I think almost daily about how much time has flown, it is accentuated when you look back on how much time has passed since various milestones. It feels like yesterday that all 100+ family and friends gathered at our house to celebrate…

Song Request Please

Do you sometimes randomly start thinking about a song, then listen to it several times in a row? And later in day do you hear it on the radio? Oh my goodness, this has been happening to me so often! I can understand this happening with newer music, but the kinds of songs that usually pop in my head randomly are the country gold kind of oldies. Most recently, this was the case with “From a Jack to a King”. Yesterday, on my way to work the catchy little chorus started rolling off the…

You Can’t Go Wrong With George

Monday is not over! And this week’s Musical Monday is here :) And who can’t go wrong with good ole George Strait? On my way home from my softball game tonight I was flipping through both the AM & FM stations and then I happened upon this gem: If you know anything about me, I’m a sucker for a dancehall. If you see me not dancing, you best come over and ask me for a dance if you want to get some points from me! Just this weekend, Grandma and…

Doing “City Girl” Things

Unlike most weekends that I write about, I didn’t go back home this weekend. Yep, I stayed in town, relaxed and did some “city things” as Grandpa would call them. The first of those city things, was heading back to the dog park to meet up with friends and their dogs. This would be the second time at the dog park for Ellie and me. This time we would be going on a Saturday morning. I braced myself for crowds, crazy dogs and parking. Ha turns out though, the parking…

From the Field to a Dance Hall: Yeah that’s my family.

Whew where has time flown off to? Ha what a cliche! But really, it is extremely fitting for the last couple of weeks. I’m sure this is true for most of you as well. With the holiday, Monday, and it being the end of the month. I feel like it hasn’t quite passed me by but it’s trying to that’s for sure. Lots has happened since last weekend. I had yet another unbelievably-wonderful weekend at home. It started out with just the usual banter amongst us girls, which of course…
