Twelve Things Tuesday: 04/14/2015

Hair Transformation

Halfway through April?!?! Holy smokes, what happened to the 1st QTR of 2015? Well if there is one thing that stays constant in my life, it’s that time always flies by, whether I’m having fun or not! But not to worry, only fun to be had with this new series. Twenty Things Tuesday will be a weekly series that lists things I’ve been loving, or just simply things that have been on my mind of late. So here we go:Fightin' Texas Aggie Ring

ONE: Tomorrow, April 15th, marks 4 years since I received my Fightin’ Texas Aggie Ring! My ring is much more than just a piece of jewelry to me. It’s a memento of my time and accomplishments at my beloved university.

TWO: This past Friday, was my beautiful mother’s 50th birthday! MomShe’s an amazing woman who will forever inspire me. Read these two posts I’ve done in the past about my mother, Teresa: Happy Birthday Mom and Open Letter to My Mom

THREE: The 61st Annual Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course (August 3-5, 2015) registration is open! This conference will always be near and dear to me, as I helped Dr. Cleere run two of these conferences back when I was still at Texas A&M. Seriously one of the best jobs I could have ever had. I will forever be thankful to Dr. Cleere and the rest of the Extension crew for all that they taught me! Highly recommend this to anyone interested and/or involved in the beef industry.Udder Chaos

FOUR: Speaking of cows, I’ve got a little joke for you (picture to the right):

FIVE: Diagnosis Murder will forever be my favorite TV show. Dick Van Dyke is truly the best. Thank goodness for DVRs and the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel. In a matter of a few weeks, over 90 episodes have been recorded and I’m addicted. It’s the kind of TV show I like to watch before I go to bed. It’s nowhere near as intense as the murder mystery shows of today. Does anyone else have a random old show they can’t help but be attached to? Murder, She Wrote and Bonanza also fall in this category, but I’m afraid how many episodes would rack up if I set them up on the DVR too!

SIX: TV shows I can’t believe I like: Married at First Sight on A&E (seriously Sydney and I are hooked!) and Younger on TV Land (Hilary Duff is back on a TV Show!). Both come on Tuesday nights, so again thank goodness for the DVR!

SEVEN: A new city league softball season began last night. We, the Rough Riders (haha, oh this name is so randomly awesome, yet creepy at the same time!), had a double-header last night and now we’re starting the season off 2-0! Whoop!! Pictures to come next week.

EIGHT: Do you need a laugh? Whether you do or not, I highly recommend watching this video from The Tonight Show:

NINE: It has almost been two weeks since I’ve taken the plunge into the world of being a brunette. And seriously I am loving my new look! I didn’t realize how light my hair had been until I looked at the before and after side by side. Check out my review of Mint Salon and Nora who helped with my hairdo. Hair TransformationTEN: During the last couple of weeks, I have realized that I really love candles. And Bath & Body Works candles are simply the best of the best. Right now they are running a 2 for $24 on their big candles. Don’t bother buying these candles when they aren’t on sale. They put them on sale pretty often.

Right now my favorite scents are:

ELEVEN: Favorite app on my phone: Lumosity, it’s a daily workout for your brain!

TWELVE: QUOTE OF THE WEEK — “The quieter you become, the more you can hear.” Ram Dass

Well this was absolutely fun! Can’t wait for next week’s post :)
