Well it should be no surprise that this South Texas girl doesn’t prefer temperatures below 60° F, let alone those in the 30s! However, even I must admit the winter season has the ability to create some of the most gorgeous sunrises.
Monday morning, I was ready to get out of the door and off to work before 7. But I looking out the window above our kitchen sink I saw the beginnings of what looked like a decently pretty sunrise. As I started the car to warm it up, packed my lunch and grabbed my things I kept an eye out towards the east at that sunrise. The sky had continued to saturate, forcing me to choose between being ahead of the dreaded school traffic or to take the extra time to grab my camera, take pictures and then probably be in the stop-and-go routine on the road.
Of course I chose the latter. And oh am I glad I did. This entire week has brought us the most beautiful mornings. It’s hard to not get lost in them while driving to work, but then again driving down Hwy. 90 with school and construction traffic keeps you pretty well engaged. Nonetheless, it’s these kind of mornings that make me want to go sit in a church and thank the dear Lord for all that he has blessed me with.
